Our new regular blog Trend Monitor takes a look at the new crazes and design trends emerging in 2012.
In 2011 Pop-Up shops were a huge trend in the world of retail and in 2012 we’re going to see the rise of the mobile kitchen too. Allowing restaurant owners to test their menus in a Pop-Up is a more cost-effective way to launch a business than through investment in traditional, non-mobile establishments.
We can’t wait to see these appearing near us soon!
Feeling more ethical in 2012? More designers and fashion consumers are now considering morality and ethics when it comes to selecting their fashion pieces. Fair trade clothing and accessories are gaining ground as fashionistas the world over recognize that looking good is all about feeling good too!
Pantone has named the Colour of 2012 Tangerine Tango. Pantone’s Fashion Colour Report Spring 2012 named key fashion designers who have incorporated orange into their Spring 2012
collections including Tommy Hilfiger, Nanette Lepore and Adrienne Vittadini.
According to interior designer Elizabeth Bishop: “The peacock theme is also key this year, both with the pattern of the eye of peacock feathers and also with colour schemes, incorporating turquoise and sea greens with hints of gold. If you are feeling bold, give your dining room a theatrical theme applying this idea to a feature wall.”
